WEEK 5

AROUND THE CAMPFIRE

We were never meant to walk alone.

Faith was never meant to be a solo journey. God created us to walk together.

WALKING TOGETHER

Journeys are better with people beside you.

Most people don't hike alone.

Journeys are usually better when you have people walking beside you.

People to encourage you.  Support you.  Laugh with you.  Help you when the trail gets difficult.

Faith works the same way.

That's one of the reasons God created the church.

THE COMMUNITY

What is the Church?

When many people hear the word "church," they think of a building

But the church is really a community of people following Jesus together.

People learning together. Growing together. Praying together. Helping each other continue the journey.

And honestly, nobody follows Jesus perfectly.

We all have struggles. Questions. Good days and difficult days.

That's why community matters so much.

“Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts”

ACTS 2:46

FROM THE BEGINNING

The early church gathered together.

After Jesus rose from the dead, the first believers began meeting regularly together. They gathered in larger groups to worship and learn from the apostles' teaching.

They also met in smaller groups in homes where they could talk, pray, eat meals, encourage each other, and grow deeper in their faith together.

Two thousand years later, some things look different...but the heart behind it is still the same.

We still gather together to worship God, learn from Scripture, and encourage one another along the journey.

NOT ALONE

God never intended for you

to carry life alone.

Yes, God is always with us.

But He also created us to need relationships with other people.

People who

ENCOURAGE US

PRAY FOR US

CRY WITH US

CHALLENGE US

REMIND US OF THE TRUTH

HELP US KEEP WALKING

KEEP THE FIRE GOING

Community helps keep the fire going

A single coal seperated from the

fire slowly loses heat.

But together, the fire stays strong.

When life gets difficult, other believers help remind us we aren't alone, God is still working, and the journey is worth continuing.

Church was never meant to be just attending a service

“Let us not neglect our meeting together…

but encourage one another.”

ACTS 2:46

It’s about belonging. Being known. Walking through life together.

THIS WEEKS CHALLENGE

Take one step toward community.

Start a conversation

Are you connected to a church community — not just attending occasionally, but beginning to know people and let people know you?

This week, introduce yourself to someone at church. Start a conversation. Take one small step toward connection.

Explore a small group

Growth often happens in smaller circles — places to ask questions, build friendships, pray with others, study Scripture, and encourage one another through real life.

"Focus on Authentic Relationships" Sermon

Building relationships is all about having a love for others. A love that builds one another up.

Keep walking.

Some parts of the trail are difficult. That's why God gives us people to walk beside us.

Sometimes, the encouragement you need most often comes from sitting around the campfire with others who are walking the same journey.

KEEP WALKING

Together.
