One of my favorite stories in the Bible is in 2 Kings 6 when Elisha the prophet is standing with his servant. The king of Aram has encircled Israel and is going to attack. The Bible says that the servant said to Elisha, “Alas, my master, what shall we do? So Elisha answered, do not fear, for those who are with us are far more in number than those who are with them.” Now, at this point the attendant has to be looking around going, what are you talking about? There’s no one with us! There's them and there's us but there's no one with us. So Elisha prayed, “O Lord, I pray, open his spiritual eyes that he may see. And the Lord opened the servant's spiritual eyes and he saw; and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.” What did he see? God's angelic army. Folks, listen, there is an angelic army at the command of Jesus Christ and this angelic army is as active today as it was in the Old Testament. If God would drop the spiritual blinders from our eyes and we could see the angels all around us, we would probably all drop over dead. Do you realize that when you pray God dispatches angels? Think about it.
