One of the things I love about God is that He is a God who constantly gives us divine encouragement. In 2 Corinthians 1 chapter 1 we read, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies" -- and look at this -- "the God of all comfort, the God of all encouragement who comforts us in our affliction so we can comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort we ourselves were comforted with from God.” He is a God who gives divine encouragement. How many times have I seen this happen in my life when I was going through struggles? I think of just the last few weeks and some of the struggles and hardships I have faced and every single time somehow, some way, God would use His Word to bring divine encouragement into to my life. Have you ever experienced that, where God, through His Word, gave you exactly what you needed to hear, exactly what you needed to read during a time that was tough in your life? He is the God of all comfort who comforts us in our trials so we can comfort others going through their own trials. After all, God doesn’t comfort us to make us comfortable. He comforts us to make us comforters.
