How did Cain respond to God's rejection of the offering? The Bible says he got angry at God and then his anger turned to Abel. The Bible says that his countenance fell. He was bummed out big-time. What's missing in Cain's response? There's no repentance. God just said very clearly, “Cain, if do you well you'll be okay. But you're not doing well.” Instead of Cain saying, “God, You're right I'm not doing this the right way. I'm not doing this with the right heart. I need to repent,” he allows his anger to grab a hold of his heart. When your heart is tainted you will be miserable. Psalm 32 says, “How blessed is he whose transgressions is forgiven, whose sin is covered.” There is no better feeling in the world than knowing you’re right with God. Winning the Publisher’s Clearinghouse Sweepstakes is nothing compared to knowing you're right with God. Getting the Powerball Jackpot is nothing compared to knowing you're right with God. Your team winning the championship is nothing compared to knowing you're right with God. If you want to experience life at its fullest -- I did not say life at its easiest, but at its fullest -- live a life where step by step you walk in obedience with a heart that is right with God.
