Temptation usually comes in a disguise. In the Garden of Eden Satan talks to Eve through a serpent. He doesn’t come to here overtly but rather he comes to her as a serpent - in a disguise. By the way, that hasn't changed. It is still true today. In Ephesians 6 we learn that Satan even to this day is the master of trickery. When Paul writes about putting on the full armor of God he says so that you'll be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. The word schemes there means trickery. Deception. This is still how Satan works today. He comes to us in disguise. In fact, notice what Paul says to the church at Corinth when he says that Satan is not just a master of trickery, he also is a master of disguise. He comes in a way that makes it look good, maybe even makes it look spiritual. That is still Satan's tactic today which is why Peter said you need to always be sober, always be on the alert because your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion seeking someone to devour. You will be tempted this week and more than likely that temptation will come to you in some form of disguise because temptation usually comes in a disguise.
