Elder Board Member Bio's
My wife Cathy and I have been attending Gaylord E-Free for 29+ years. We have two adult daughters, both are married. Morgan (Ross) lives in Indianapolis IN, and Samantha (Drew) lives in Gaylord. We have also been blessed with two grandchildren (Zaela and Knox). I have served on various boards, teams, and committees over the years including being on the Elder Board for 9 years beginning in the early 2000’s, Church Chairman for 3 years, and currently serving on the Elder Board again the last 5 years. It will be my honor and pleasure to continue to serve this Church as an Elder as we all work towards “Meeting people right where there at, and help move them to where God wants them to be”, while giving all the glory to Him.
I moved to Gaylord in September, 2001 for my career. My wife Sarah and I started attending Gaylord E Free Church a couple of weeks after moving to town. I have a daughter Natasha, who is studying for her doctorate at MSU. My younger daughter Samatha, is a junior at Gaylord High School. While attending E Free, I have served on different boards. I spent time on the Deacon Team, served as the Head Usher, and the last nine years I’ve been on the Elder Board. I think we have a strong Christ focused Elder Board and it would be an honor to serve another three year term as one of your Elders serving Christ and keeping Him at the center of our Church.
The Sarchet family has been blessed to be members of Gaylord E-Free for over 15 years. Marie and I met while attending Michigan Tech, and have been married for 24 years. We have three boys, Samuel and Charlie (Senior and Sophomore at GVSU) and Stefan a Junior at GHS. I have been honored to serve the church at E- Free in multiple venues including the Worship team, Sound crew, Usher team, Deacons and 3 previous years on the Elder Board (2012). The last few years have been wonderfully busy for Marie and I, with the two boys entering collegiate life. While life at home has become a bit slower, I feel God has also opened the door for me to contribute once again as an Elder, serving to promote God’s evolving plans for E-Free and to reach Northern Michigan for those in need of his Glory.
I moved to Gaylord from Cody Wyoming almost 11 years ago and have been attending Gaylord E-Free church since I moved here. I was remarried in 2013 to my wife Krista and we have six children, four that are still at home and in school (Darbi, Abbi, Kylie, Lucas) and two grown children that in live in the Grand Rapids area (Jordan, Hannah). In the past I have served on the Deacon committee at E-Free and continue to regularly usher and greet. It would be an honor for me to serve on the Elder Board and do all I can to help in continuing to saturate Northern Michigan with the word of Jesus Christ.
Rick has been married to his wife Deb for 49 years. Rick & Deb are from Saginaw and moved to Gaylord in 1989 when Rick opened the Tractor Supply company in town. They have two daughters, Melissa, age 42, and Sarah age 39. The family began attending E-Free Church in 1990 when their daughter Melissa became active in the youth group. Rick is now semi-retired from Tractor Supply and Deb is retired from retail. Rick has served on the Elder Board for 9 years. The family enjoys visits to Indiana to visit Melissa & Peter and their two grandsons Elijah Paul (5 yrs.) and Ezekial James (one yr.).
